Tips for families with infants
There is a proper outdoor play area for smaller children (from 2 to around 6 years old) in Saalbach Hinterglemm. Both in the valley and on the mountain, there is so much for them to explore together with their parents.

This park and the adventure playground are located at the head of the valley, next to Lindlingalm and has large wooden animals, natural materials for balancing on, exploring and experiencing. A weekly programme of events in high season provides entertainment. Creativity and that spirit of discovery are promoted here.

Our tip for little hikers with weary legs - the ‘tractor train’ takes them conveniently from the car park at the head of the valley to attractions including Devils’ Water, Schnitza's Wood Park and much more. - Montelino's Adventure Path
Whether walking themselves, or taking it easy in a back carrier (the path is also suitable for all-terrain prams) - this path between the mountain station and the intermediate station for the Kohlmaisbahn proceeds via Alpine pastures and through the forest, from play station to play station, and the aim is to help Clown Montelino look for his toys and help his friends.
Montelino's animal feeding area (at the Panorama Alm) and Montelino's water play ground (Eder Alm) are located along the path.

Water fun on the clover meadow at the end of Montelino's Adventure Path - splash about to your heart’s content at the dam and milking station.

Is there anything nicer for children than playing with water? At the head of the valley in Saalbach Hinterglemm is Devil’s Water, a theme park based around the element of water. From Kneipp pool to realm of munchkins and fairies.

Tips for families with children up to around the age of 10
Saalbach Hinterglemm has quite a lot to offer children between the ages of 6 and 10. Along with countless hiking paths and bike routes for young riders, there are special themed paths and attractions here, just waiting to be explored.
- Kodok Mountain
In Hinterglemm, at the mountain station for the Reiterkogelbahn, the adventure based around the crafty goblin, Kodok, who stole the clown’s cap, begins. An exciting adventure on 3.5 km takes kids across pastures, through the forest and even into a gorge to solve the puzzle. With the adventure pass in their hands (available at the valley station for the Reiterkogelbahn) families head into a world of fantasy - savvy and courage are the order of the day!

Along the River Saalach the path proceeds from Jausern to Saalbach, with a total of 24 stations, where agility, a sense of balance and fitness are required and trained. From spider’s web to 3D coordination path and the kite surfing simulator - it is not just the children who are stretched here - adults can test out their skills too.

At the head of the valley in Hinterglemm, a 1.2 km circuit awaits you (start & finish is the Ossmannalm), with an exciting quiz based on the local animal kingdom. - Montelino's summit playground
Play with a panoramic view - on the summit of the Zwölferkogel - right next to the mountain station for the Zwölferkogelbahn. Climb like a chamois - on the climbing course with views across Glemmtal or work on your balance on the slackline. There are numerous challenges for skill and balance.

- Expedition Kodok
A hunt for Kodok the goblin's magic crystals sets kids on a mission out to find out where the magic crystals are stashed, and to do so they need to solve puzzles and complete tasks, with the help of the treasure map. For particularly resourceful kids, there is the opportunity to navigate the route using GPS data and decipher the puzzle. Successful participants receive a certificate with photo, which is proof of their courage.

- Geocaching
A 15 km Power Trail along the Saalach draws in many geocachers. Using GPS (whether it is your Smartphone or a separate GPS device) and the coordinates (retrievable via the free Geo Cache log-in) smart kids can find sought-after caches. By cachers for cachers - Slackline course
At the intermediate station for the Zwölferkogelbahn, balance, coordination and concentration are the order of the day. With views to the mountains in Glemmtal, kinds can improve their balance and work their way up from difficulty levels ranging from easy to difficult.

The beginner-friendly ‘Learn to ride Park’ at the Kohlmaisbahn in Saalbach is ideal for freeride newbies of all ages. The circuit is the optimum way to start before moving on. The following trails are waiting for you: Little Monti, Little Hacklberg, Little Panorama, Little Pro-Line and Drop Area
A cycle technique and practice terrain awaits at the mountain station for the Reiterkogelbahn. Two Pump Tracks and a Skill Trail are there to help you improve your technique. - Motor Skills Path Saalbach(see above)
- Käpt'n Hook Adventure Pool
When the weather is nice plenty of fun splashing about is guaranteed - complete with wild water channel and water slide. It’s all happening in the tube slide and at the beach volleyball pitch. And since all that running about works up an appetite - in between meals you can enjoy a snack in the restaurant on the ship’s deck.

Face to face with a stag. Here above the Panoramaalm on the Kohlmais in Saalbach, young and old alike watch the deer feeding between 10:00 and 11:00. - Tree-top Trail
Stroll through the treetops along with the family on the 2 km tree-top trail at the head of the valley in Hinterglemm - the highest treetop hiking trail in Europe. On the tree-top trail you proceed via the Golden Gate Bridge, 42 metres above the valley floor in Glemmtal, providing superb views. The tree-top trail itself is 600 metres long and up to 30 metres above the forest floor.

A game of mini golf against Mum and Dad - that can get exciting. In Hinterglemm the mini golf facility is right in the middle of the family park area - in Saalbach, behind the Tourist Service Centre.

A blend of a scavenger hunt, adventure and quiz rally for groups of 2 – 8 people who solve exciting puzzles together on a 5 km route, in around 3 – 5 hours (actual walking time of 1 12 hours), assisted by their Smartphones and a special App to then reach the finish together. The Escape Trail can be booked online with the tourist association.
