Hospitality begins with a genuine smile. Perhaps with yours.
There are hotels where guests simply check in at reception.
And then there are places where guests truly arrive.
At Unterschwarzachhof, reception is precisely that kind of place.
Here, many guests are greeted by name. We look forward to welcoming back families who have been returning for years. We know their preferred room, which wine complements their dinner, and why children feel right at home within minutes of arriving.
If you love this genuine style of hospitality while enjoying leading and developing a team, then we should get to know each other.
Why us
Unterschwarzachhof is not a corporate hotel chain.
We are a family-run boutique hotel in the heart of Hinterglemm.
Packed with personality. With flat hierarchies.
With people who take true ownership.
Our guests value our personable service just as much as the exceptional quality of our hotel. That is precisely why our reception is far more than an administrative hub.
It is the beating heart of our hotel.
As Front Office Manager, you and your team will turn a stay into a memorable experience – from the initial phone call to a warm send-off.
Your role
You won't manage our reception desk from behind a back-office door.
You are right at the centre of the action.
You welcome guests, support your team, keep a cool head even on busy days, and ensure every guest feels: "I am truly welcome here."
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing our front office team
- Hands-on involvement in day-to-day reception and reservations duties
- Overseeing smooth and professional check-in and check-out procedures
- Organising daily front office workflows
- Creating duty rotas and mentoring new team members during onboarding
- Processing reservations and maintaining all booking and distribution channels (PMS, OTAs, Channel Manager)
- Ensuring warm, personal, and high-quality guest communication
- Handling guest requests and complaint resolution professionally
- Working closely with housekeeping, restaurant, kitchen, spa, and sales & marketing
- Actively driving and enhancing our overall service quality
We are not looking for a manager who simply delegates tasks.
We are looking for someone who leads by example.
Your profile
You will fit right in if you:
- Are a host at heart.
- Enjoy leading, encouraging, and developing people.
- Remain warm and friendly even under pressure.
- Love organisation without losing sight of the human touch.
- Relish taking on responsibility.
- Think ahead rather than waiting around.
- Are happy to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front.
Ideally, you will also bring:
- completed qualifications in hospitality or tourism management
- several years of front office experience in the hotel industry
- initial leadership experience or the desire to take the next step up
- excellent spoken and written German and English
- proficiency in property management systems (PMS) and reservation tools
- passion for quality, outstanding service, and teamwork
Our culture
We operate at the highest standard.
But we never take ourselves more seriously than our guests or our team.
Our doors are always open.
The owners are present in the hotel every day.
Fresh ideas are welcome.
Decisions are made quickly and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
We support one another – across all departments.
Because exceptional hospitality doesn't stem from seamless processes alone. It comes from people who genuinely enjoy working together.
