Der Unterschwarzachhof

1562 

The original Unter-schwarzachhof is built as a hunting lodge for Prince Archbishop Paris Lodron of Salzburger. Hunting and religious paintings hanging on the wall bear witness to this period.

1902 

The marriage of my great-grandparents, Anna und Josef Hasenauer, resulted in our family acquiring the property formerly known as "Unter-schwarzachgut" in 1902. The union produced, in addition, to my grandfather, fourteen other children.  

1919

My great-grandfather died in a carpentry accident, leaving my grandfather, still a teenager, to take over his duties. He often mentioned the great depression of the 1930s.

1935

After the sudden death of my great-grandmother, my grandfather and his sister, Katharina, took over the management of the business.

1948

The old farmhouse is partially converted and offers accommodation to the first guests.

1960

1961

My parents get married.

1975 

My grandfather passes on the hotel to my parents. Three generations now live in one house: my grandparents, parents, my five siblings and myself.

1976

A year later the present-day Unterschwarzachhof was founded.

1999

My parents go into well-deserved retirement. As the eldest son, I took over the hotel and farm. 

2001

 The hotel undergoes major extension work. The new ambience at Unterschwarzachhof sees the hotel being awarded 4-star status.

2002

Jacky and I get married. The happy union produces the two sunshines of our lives: Thomas und Antonia.

2006 

We decide to renovate part of the property, creating 13 luxurious country house style rooms and suites.

2007

The opening of our newly renovated country house hotel. New features include a wellness centre, indoor swimming pool, beauty salon, additional cosy suites, new entrance hall, lobby and bar, as well as an outdoor pool, sunbathing area and numerous play facilities for children.

Opening of the new gastronomic experience "The Schwarzacher. Another dream of us comes true. The “Schwarzacher”  with the Drive-In, Apres Ski, Chill-Out Lounge & Gourmet Restaurant is the new star in the gastronomic heaven of Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
